Sanju, a young Thai-Indian, is an entrepreneur who was diagnosed with Major Chronic Depression and Schizophrenia 4 years ago. Since then, he has been on a journey to recovery with the help of his psychiatrist, family and close friends. Understanding how hard it is to live with depression and schizophrenia, especially in the part of the world where mental health is widely stigmatized, Sanju has taken a stand to become an advocate for mental health. He has opened up about his diagnosis, treatments, and suicide attempt publicly with the hope that it will create a better understand for others. Apart from being an advocate, Sanju is also developing an “On-Demand Listening” application with the hope of creating a more empathetic society where people learn how to listen from their heart. Sanju has been selected as one of fifty from the Global Shapers Community to represent at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2020 in Davos, Switzerland.
